About eHealth and our Culture
eHealth Saskatchewan is at the heart of how health care works across the province – powering the digital systems that connect care teams, patients and information. With over 800 employees in 20 communities, we provide IT support and services in 433 locations, ensuring the right information and tools are in the right hands at the right time so care teams can focus on what matters most: patient care. We also manage Vital Statistics, health card services, and MySaskHealthRecord, one of Canada’s leading tools for giving people secure online access to their health information.
At eHealth, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver. Our culture isn’t just something we talk about, it shapes how we make decisions, support each other and deliver results:
1. Partner for results: We prioritize teamwork and ensure decisions involve those affected
2. Serve with purpose: We act with empathy, respect and care in every interaction to deliver better outcomes
3. Own our actions: We own our success and failures, act with honesty, and uphold trust
4. Innovate with intent: We challenge the status quo and turn ideas into action
Join us in strengthening Saskatchewan’s health system through meaningful, people-centered digital innovation.
The Opportunity
As our Total Rewards Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert behind how eHealth approaches compensation and job classification. You’ll partner closely with the HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and HR Business Partners to ensure jobs are appropriately classified, pay decisions are equitable and defensible, and leaders have the tools and advice they need to make sound people decisions.
Your expertise won’t always stay behind the scenes. HR Business Partners may bring you into client conversations when deeper expertise in classification, compensation, or market data is needed, so you’ll need to be equally comfortable digging into the details and explaining them in a clear, confident, and practical way.
Just as importantly, you’ll help us build and mature the function, using data, research and new technology to develop practical compensation and classification approaches that meet eHealth’s evolving needs.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Director, ELR & Total Rewards, you will:
Lead job classification and evaluation activities, including the classification of new positions, validation of existing roles and assessment of reclassification requests, ensuring decisions are consistent, evidence-based and aligned with established classification plans and principles.
Partner with all HR Centres of Excellence and HR Business Partners to provide expert advice on job design, classification and compensation, supporting coordinated HR services and joining client conversations alongside HR Business Partners when deeper expertise is needed.
Develop salary recommendations and pay calculations for new hires and internal employee movements, considering qualifications, relevant experience, internal equity, established salary structures and applicable compensation practices.
Manage the annual out-of-scope (OOS) performance increases process, including eligibility reviews, salary calculations and coordination with HR Business Partners and Payroll to ensure accurate and timely implementation.
Build and maintain practical compensation tools, calculators, guidance and processes, including approaches to promotional increases, salary placement, increments and other pay decisions that improve consistency, accuracy and efficiency.
Research, analyze and evolve eHealth’s compensation and classification practices, including areas such as market supplementation, market competitiveness, promotional practices and job classification methodology.
Use workforce and compensation data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating analysis into clear recommendations that support equitable, consistent and evidence-informed decisions.
Advance the service line through continuous improvement and innovation, including identifying opportunities to use AI, automation and technology while ensuring appropriate validation, quality assurance and governance are in place.
Who we're looking for
You’re someone who loves getting into the details, but can also step back and see how things could work better. You bring strong judgment, curiosity and a builder’s mindset, and you’re comfortable being the person others turn to for expertise. You enjoy making complex things simpler, creating practical tools and approaches, and helping others build their confidence along the way.
What you'll bring to the Team
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field, combined with five (5) years of progressive human resources experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience or demonstrated knowledge in job classification and job evaluation, including exposure to established classification plans, methodologies or frameworks.
Experience supporting compensation and salary decisions, such as salary recommendations, internal equity analysis, promotional or internal movement calculations, pay adjustments or similar compensation activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with compensation and workforce data, identify trends and inconsistencies, and develop practical recommendations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 tools, with the ability to build reliable calculations, analytical tools and resources that support HR decision-making.
Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to explain technical compensation and classification concepts in a clear, practical and credible way to HR colleagues and leaders.
